Brunsvigia herrei (wild plant photographed at Harras by Chris Rodgerson)
This superficially resembles B. bosmaniae but the bulb is above ground and the leaves that follow the flowers are upright rather than prostrate. It can be found growing on various hills in the Richtersveld. The close-up photograph is of a cultivated seedling that flowered in my greenhouse growing in an11cm long-tom pot. The number of florets was very much less than on a large mature plant.
