Conophytum bilobum ssp. altum TS/PD 975 (N of Aughrabies)

In the south-west Richtersveld around Naroegas and Aughrabies, there are populations of C. bilobum that have small bodies and long internodes such that they develop obvious stems with maturity, these have been named as ssp. altum. C. meyeri occurs in the same area and it is not always easy to tell the two species apart, the distinguishing feature being shorter internodes on C. meyeri.
