Conophytum friedrichiae (Pofadder)

The Ophthalmophyllum group is rather difficult to separate into species. The name C. friedrichiae is used for those forms that grow to the  north and east of Pofadder extending to Warmbad and Kakamas and which have quite rich brown bodies. Flower colour can vary from white to purple. The form from the farm Sidi Barani has quite warty bodies that are rather similar to C. verrucosum.
