Conophytum frutescens TS 750 (Komaggas)

Conophytum bilobum normally has short internodes and produces white or yellow flowers. However near Komaggas it tends to be have long internodes and orange flowers, where it is given the name C. frutescens. In addition to forming plants that are almost small shrubs, it is very early flowering (June in my collection). Orange flowers in mesembs are nearly always the result of crossing yellow- and purple-flowered species, so it is very likely that this taxon is of hybrid origin.
