Conophytum minusculum (Gifberg)

C. minusculum is widespread on Table Mountain Sandstone in the Western Cape and is quite variable in size and markings. Forms from the Gifberg, as shown above, are among the most vigorous and rewarding to grow. Others such as the small form found on Pakhuis Pass and Nardousberg are slightly tricky and tend to crack out from their old skin very late in the autumn. Some of the nicest markings can be seen on the population which grows near the west coast on the Heerenlogementsberg.
