Conophytum minusculum ssp. leipoldtii ARM412 (Eselsbank)

The name leipoldtii is classically applied to hairy forms of C. minusculum that occur to the west of Clanwilliam. These are more rounded than the plant shown above, with longer hairs and no markings. There are a number of colonies growing in the Cedarberg near Eselsbank that show the characteristic of the plant in the picture to which the name leipoldtii has also been applied; perhaps incorrectly so.
