Conophytum roodiae TS959 (Hoedberg)

This is not a well-known species and yet it grows all over Namaqualand. The bodies vary from red-brown to grey-green in colour and there is much variation in the size of the bodies; some being quite small. In some areas the plants grow from a central rootstock, in others they spread and each head roots. The spreading types are best split apart every few years and given fresh compost if you want to maintain it in good health.
