Conophytum smaleorum R&Y1788 (Groendoring River|)

Isn't it nice to have a plant named for you and your wife? This recently-discovered species is at present only known from one locality. It is no problem to grow but is a little slow to build up clumps. It seems to be related to C. auriflorum, but in cultivation the heads and their sheathing behaviour have a superficial resemblance to C. bachelorum and chrisocruxum.
