Conophytum violaciflorum TS/PD991 (6km east Springbok)

This species occurs on quartz hills in the Springbok area, and even occurs within the town limits. This form, that I discovered with Philip Desmet in 2001, is smaller and greyer than most other ecotypes. In all forms it is an easy and floriferous species that is allied to the C. tantillum complex. It is interesting to compare this image with the one of C. antonii.
